Retrain your Brain: Create the reality you desire!

It’s true what they say; Thoughts have the potential to create reality. Don’t believe me? Why are you here? I will go out on a limb and say ours is not the first site you stumbled upon in your quest to change your life. I will even add that chances are your life thus far has not turned out according to plan, or has it?

It’s not hocus-pocus. Most self-help gurus simply allude to this self-empowering truth. They, along with new age psychologists, life coaches and countless others only begin to skim the surface. How else can they convince you to part with your hard-earned cash? Well, that is not entirely accurate. For you see, the fact is the surface is all there is. In other words, the surface is where you need to concentrate your efforts. I am of course referring to your conscious mind; The you that you are aware of and most identify with.  Most self-proclaimed experts will have you believe you can’t achieve this incredibly liberating level of awareness on your own. I am here to tell you that you can and I will prove it. The answer is surprisingly simple.

So where exactly did you go wrong? After all, this is clearly not what you intended for yourself. You wanted so much more. NO! You deserve so much more! I couldn’t agree more. However, you are the navigator. You chose this reality and therefore created this life for yourself, but you probably don’t agree.  I will ask again; why are you here? Allow me to answer for you. You are sick and tired and you want to change. Perhaps you have reached the absolute threshold, but don’t know how to achieve the sort of life you’ve only dreamed of.

It’s called the RAS (Reticular Activating System) and you used it to find this article. At some point you thought to yourself with conviction “I am sick and tired of this! I can’t do this anymore”. This powerful thought sent a clear and concise message to your sub-conscience. Unbeknownst to you, your sub-conscience immediately sprang into action and did what it does best; deliver that which you desire. From that moment on it was almost supernatural. Everywhere you turned you saw the same thing. Sites about self-help, billboards on the highway which read “Achieve the life you desire”. Even your colleagues at work are talking about it! How is this possible?

Perhaps a better example of RAS at work is this: Before buying my new car I spent day and night looking at pictures online and doing research. I finally decided on a Jeep and shortly after, a surprising thing started to happen. Suddenly, Jeeps were all I saw on the highway. At work, I parked between two jeeps. Every television commercial wanted to sell me a Jeep. What? Did my neighbor just buy a Jeep? It’s not magic or even supernatural. The fact is the Jeeps were there all along and I simply did not notice. But, as soon as I decided I wanted one I sent my sub-conscience a very powerful message: I want a Jeep! From that moment on my sub-conscience kept asking me “How about that one? No? What about this one?”

Unfortunately, what you’ve been doing your entire life is the equivalent of saying you want to turn left, but turning the steering wheel hard right. Your sub-conscience is capable of achieving literally anything. All you have to do is ask it to. You need to realize one very important fact, however. It is not concerned with right or wrong, fair or unfair or any other label for that matter. It simply wants to prove you right!  Contrary to what so-called experts will tell you, the sub-conscience doesn’t require training. It does one thing and does it remarkably well. As Henry Ford famously put it: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t –you’re right.”

As I mentioned previously, you don’t need to train your sub-conscience or achieve a state of trance to communicate your wishes to it. It’s always listening, always at the ready and eager to comply. So, how do you tap into this incredible source for change? Speak to it. Tell it what you want, but mean it! Say it with conviction and absolute fervor. That is the most important factor. You have to believe and believe with all your heart. Believe you have the power to create reality. Realize you’ve been doing it since the day you achieved consciousness. You don’t need to be a Zen master, nor does it require a lifetime of meditation. You don’t even need to “retrain your brain”, but you do need to change your thought habits.

After all, for years you believed all the negative thoughts running rampant in your head. You need only look at everything you’ve created to realize this is true.

You are not alone!
