My Train

By |January 6th, 2018|Poetry, Writings|

“My train is coming; I am on the platform.

It is now just a step away. I can almost see the lights from it.

(Waited my whole life)

(Missed it so many times)

(I am older now. I now understand. I am ready)

I can’t wait to feel the forceful wind when it finally arrives and passes me as it slows down.

The sun is out. The weather is perfect. The storm has passed.

I take a look around; I am alone.

(So many times I stood at the platform surrounded by friends, and loved ones but the train never came)

The doors will open, I will get in, sit down, take a deep breath, exhale, and all will be left behind”…
